Beady-Eyed Bateleur

The intense stare of this Bateleur Eagle just grabbed my attention as soon as I saw it. I just had to try and paint it to see if I could achieve that same intensity.

Produce on Pastelmat using a combination of soft pastels and pastel pencils, from a superb reference photo by Albert Beukhof.  The original image is 21 x 28.5cm.
