Long-tailed Tit (sitting on branch

I originally started to paint this for a friend but unfortunately he passed away from cancer before I managed to complete it. That will be one of my biggest regrets. He loved the mobs of long-tailed tits that used to visit his garden. A print now hangs where his wife can look at it every day.

The reference photo was taken by Paul & Claire Lloyd Wildlife Photography. The piece is 53.5cm x 26.5cm, painted on Pastelmat using soft pastels and pastel pencils.
